The average American bank account pays 0.39% a year. Put away $1,000, wait twelve months, and you get about four dollars. Meanwhile the bank lends your money out at 5 to 7% and keeps the difference. You do the waiting, and they keep the profit.
We think you deserve a fairer deal than that. So we built Nammu, an app where your money earns real rewards and grows toward the goals you care about. If you want, part of that growth can fund the causes you love. And because we should say this early and plainly: Nammu is a technology platform, not a bank. We never hold your money. You do, in a wallet you control. We think that's a feature.
There are three beliefs behind Nammu. Everything in the app comes from one of them.
1.A fair reward gets you to your goals sooner
A rate is just a tool. What you care about is your own place, a flight home, or enough of a cushion to leave a job that's wearing you down. A better tool matters because of what you can build with it.
Today, most of that building power goes to someone else. Your money already works hard, but it works for your bank. Nammu routes your digital dollars into a secure, open lending market where borrowers pay for access to capital. There is no bank in the middle, so more of what your money earns comes back to you. Earnings accrue daily, and rates have lately run up to 8% APY. That number is variable and moves with the market, and we show you the live rate in the app, with no teaser tricks.
The point is simple: the gap between you and the thing you're saving for gets shorter every day, without you doing anything.
2.Giving should fit your life
Most people want to give. The data says so: about 9 in 10 young adults donated something in the past year. But giving usually asks you to have a good month first. If money is tight, generosity starts to feel like a bill.
We designed giving to work differently. In Nammu, it comes from your growth, never your pocket. You pick what share of your earnings goes to conservation, from zero to everything, and you can change it whenever you want. The money you put in stays yours, untouched. In a good week your giving grows on its own, and in a rough week it shrinks, so you never have to make the awkward choice to cancel anything.
We're starting with rainforest conservation, with established partners whose work you can verify (more on exactly who and why in our next post). Over time you'll choose the causes that matter to you.
3.Good money habits should feel like play
Saving fails for a boring reason: the reward is years away and the effort is today. Study after study shows the fix is feedback you can see now. In one Boston Fed pilot, people saved 25% more often when game mechanics were added.
So we gave your savings a heartbeat. In Nammu, your progress grows a living jungle. Save, and it thickens. Give, and new life shows up. You get streaks and milestones, and a small world that reflects the real one you're helping protect. It sounds playful because it is. It's also behavioral science: feedback you can see today turns "I should save" into a habit you look forward to checking on.
$3,000 saved, day one
Clearing · your money starts earning
Illustrative only: assumes $3,000 saved, a 6% variable rate (rates move with the market), half of all earnings shared, and $165 to protect one hectare, a blended estimate across leading conservation programs. The money you put in is never donated, only what it earns.
Why us
I've spent more than a decade building digital-money infrastructure, including four years leading custody and wallet infrastructure at CoinList, where I watched institutions get access to the best tools this technology has to offer. Regular savers never got the same access. The rails are finally good enough, and cheap enough, to change that. Nammu is my attempt to hand those tools to everyone, wrapped in something that feels more like a garden than a terminal.
What happens next
We're getting close to launch. The waitlist is open at nammu.finance, and early members will shape what we build next. We'd rather answer a hundred questions than have one person feel unsure, so if you have one, write to us: [email protected]. A human will reply.
Build your wealth. Do good. Zero sacrifice.
